Flashcards
Here is a link for studying compound words. In earlier activities, I explored being able to see the difference between what was and what was not a compound word. In this activity, I want the students to be able to break the compound word down into two single words.
An example would be if the flash card said bedspread, the user would type bed + spread

You Are an Interpersonal Learner
Your mantra: I understand what you mean.
Interpersonal learners thrive on social interaction. Friends often ask you for advice because you are understanding and in tune with the people around you and their motives, emotions, perspectives, and moods.
Your ability to manage relationships helps you understand situations and take a leadership role when necessary. You enjoy teaching and sharing your thoughts.
Careers that require insight and the ability to read what someone else is thinking or feeling -- such as teaching, psychology, or sales -- would be a great match for those with interpersonal intelligence.
Tips for the way you learn:
* Give and receive feedback.
* Talk out problems.
* Work on large-group projects so you can use your social abilities to divide up tasks and understand all aspects of the project.
* Be a part of active learning through mentoring, tutoring, or an apprenticeship. This activity will reinforce your own knowledge or abilities.
Reflection:
I completely agree with this assessment of my personality. My friends have always asked for my advice on everything. I have always seemed to manage relationships well, and being able to read people has come in handy while babysitting.
Music being second made complete sense to me. Music has always been a big part of my life. My mom always played country music and we sang doing dishes. I was in choir at school for 8 years. Sometimes I was 2 choirs at a time. I sing when I am happy and I have certain songs for when I am sad or angry. I have memorized poems to tunes along with tons of other information I needed to know. Music just always made sense in ways I can't explain.

Tips and Tricks
I have one trick that has saved me countless times.
I always hate when I am typing real fast answering questions out of a book and I'm not looking at my computer screen. Sometimes my finger goes to hit the 'a' but slips and hits the caps lock. Next thing I know, I have several sentences written in all caps. I used to have to retype everything I had just written. My boyfriend worked on that problem and discovered that if you highlight the text and press the shift button at the same time as the F3 key, your text will change into all lower case. If you do this one more time, it will capitalize the first word of the sentence. Now this only seems to work in Microsoft Word, but what a time saver!
